Technical Specifications
General door specifications
  • Top rail height - 5-3/16" - 5-5/8"
  • Bottom rail height - 8-15/16"
  • Stile widths - 5-5/16" - 5-3/4"
  • Stile and rail dimensions include profile, sticking and stop
  • Stile and rail material solid, laminated, or engineered with lumber core and heavy veneer - mill option
  • Muntins - 1-3/8" - 2"
  • Doors have 1/2" x 4-1/4" hardwood spiral dowels: 2 in top and lock rail, 1 in intermediate rail and 4 in bottom rail
  • All panels and mulls float to allow for expansion and contraction
  • All panels are solid wood
  • One-, two-, and three-panel doors over 1'6" wide have edge-glued panels
  • Glazing is always with tempered or safety glass
  • All glass meets ANSI safety specifications
  • 3/8" bronze spacer in insulated glass units
  • Flat arch - radius is equal to door width, i.e., 36" door= 36" radius
  • True arches join perpendicular to the stile
  • True-arch-top rails are typically 2 pieces
  • True arch - radius equals half of door width
  • Top half of Dutch door always closes to 1/2 lap of bottom door
  • Dutch door shelf is 5-1/2" unless specified otherwise when ordered
  • Bottom Dutch door height is always 42" to allow for handset at 36"
  • 3'x8'x1-3/4" 20-minute label fire door available in Exterior Rocky Mountain and Classic sticking details
  • Plank count is based on door width, as follows:
    2'4" to 2'6" = 4 planks
    2'8" to 3' = 5 planks
    3'6" = 6 planks
    4' = 8 planks
  • Lumber is kiln-dried to a moisture content between 7%-9%

Interior door specifications
  • On regular latilla doors, light and air will pass through.
  • For louver doors, louvers are approximately 3" wide and extend beyond the plane of the door.
  • Standard door thickness - 1-3/8", optional 1-3/4"
  • Panel thickness varies based on sticking detail
