with open hinged wood screen

Modeled after the charming Old-World windows of Europe, our proprietary Homestead window is a beautifully crafted casement window with state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing, and hardware. Unlike most traditional casement windows, which are opened and closed by turning a crank handle, the Homestead is opened by simply unlocking the sash lock and pushing the window outward. Concealed friction hinges on the top and bottom of the sash supply ample pressure to hold the sash open in whatever position you select.

Jamb: 1-1/2" thick; 4-3/8" wide (jamb extenders available).
Sash: 1-3/4" thick on standard sizes; 2-1/2" stiles and top rail; 3-1/4" bottom rails. Maximum width 3'-6", maximum height 8'-0".
Screen: Hinged wood screen is standard. Rare earth magnet catch. Thickness 1-1/8", width of frame 1-3/4", hinge 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"; screen ships with no pull.
Glazing: Standard 5/8" annealed clear dual-glazed with champagne-colored aluminum spacer. Refer to the Glass section for additional glass options.
Wood Species: Incense Cedar or Mahogany.
Hardware: Whitco friction hinges are standard except on all arch-top sashes and on square-top sashes larger than 3' wide or 6' in height, in which case a Kelly stay and butt hinges are used.
